History
The sculptures and architecture of the temples are very well known and makes Khajuraho a popular tourist destination in India. The Khajuraho Temples can be divided into Eastern Group of Temples, Western Group of Temples and Southern Group of Temples. Kandariya Mahadeo it is the largest temple in Khajuraho.

Western Group of Temples in Khajuraho constitutes some of the most splendid and architecturally marvelous specimen of temple architecture in India. The temples in Khajuraho are broadly divided into three parts : the Eastern group, the Southern Group and the Western group of temples of which the Western group alone has the facility of an Audio guided tour wherein the tourists are guided through the seven eight temples. There is also an audio guided tour developed. The group includes such magnificent temples like Kandariya Mahadeo Temple, Chaunsat Yogini Temple, Chitragupta Temple, Lakshamana Temple, Matangeswara Temple, and Varaha Temple.
