History

Shri Shani Kshetra is a Hindu Temple located in Bannanje in Udupi (Karnataka State, India) and hosts the world’s largest monolith statue of Lord Shani, standing 23 feet tall.
Situated merely two kms away from the world-famous Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt and just one km away from the Udupi City Bus Stand, Sri Shani Kshetra is run under the auspices of the Bannanje Mutt, under the divine guidance of His Holiness Sri Sri Raghavendra Thirtha Swamiji.

Sri Sri Raghavendra Thirtha Swamiji completed his patha from Paramapoojya Sri Sri Vidyamanya Teertharu of Palimaru-Bhandarakeri Mutt and attained Sanyasa about 30 years ago from Paramapoojya Sri Sri Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawara Mutt.
