History

Sundar Narayan Temple of Maha Vishnu in the form of Vishnu Kharewada, Panchavati, Near Raviwar Karanja, Nashik, Maharashtra. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu with Goddess Shri Lakshmi and Goddess Shri Saraswathi who are placed in the sanctum of the temple. The temple walls are adorned by paintings of Indira, Hanuman and Narayana. Lord Vishnuleft and right are Shri Lakshmi and Shri Saraswathi respectively. Built in 1756 by Gangadhar Yashwant Chandrachud, this temple facing to the east has three porches each with with balcony seating, lobed arches and slightly spherical domes. The temple presents imposing architecture especially the vaulted niche, which strikes a chord with the Mughal sculpture.
