History

Jalahalli Sree Ayyappa temple in Bangalore Karnataka. Jalahalli Sree Ayyappan Temple was doubly blessed for the installation ceremony in 1967 was performed by the then Supreme Priest of Holy Sabarimala Temple and Travancore Devaswam Board Late Brahmasree Thazhaman Madham Kantararu Sankararu Thanthri, who had performed the re-installation at Holy Sabarimala.
The renovated Sreekovil has been built replicating the style of the Sabarimala Sreekovil in Kerala. Smaller shrines dedicated to Ganapati, Devi Durga, Subramanian, Navagrahas and Nagadevathas have been also added. The re-installation ceremony for Ayyappa, Ganapati and Devi Durga were performed in 2004 and the one for Subramanian in 2005. Navagraha prathishta was performed in 2006.
Annul Dhwajotsavam of the Temple is for 8 days during Malayalam month Dhanu 1 to 8 (December 16 to 23). Kodiyettu (Flag hoisting) will be after Deeparadhana on 1st Dhanu. Utsavabali will be on 7th Dhanu at 12 Noon. Pallivetta will be on the same day night at 9.00 PM. Arattu will be on 8th Dhanu. Kodiyirakku will be after Arattu at night around 9.30 PM. Procession for Pallivetta and Arattu will be with caparisoned Elephant. Special Poojas and various programmes will be there during Utsavam. Ayyappa Bhaktha Samithis of nearby areas will do their special poojas on grant scale with colourful profession and varieties of stage programmes during Utsavam.
